Path of Exile 2's 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites event brings a fresh economy, new farming opportunities, and a stable endgame meta. Since this update does not introduce a massive balance reset, many of the strongest builds from previous versions continue to perform well. Players looking to upgrade their characters, trade efficiently, or prepare for harder content will still need plenty of POE 2 Currency to craft gear, improve builds, and chase powerful upgrades.
Instead of forcing players into completely new setups, patch 0.5.5 rewards builds that offer strong clear speed, reliable boss damage, and smooth progression. Whether you enjoy melee combat, ranged attacks, minions, or hybrid playstyles, there are several options that can handle campaign content and endgame farming.
S-Tier Builds: The Best Choices for 0.5.5
1. Martial Artist Whirling Assault
Whirling Assault Martial Artist remains one of the most complete builds in the current meta. It offers fast movement, excellent pack clearing, and strong scaling throughout the game. Early versions can perform well with basic equipment, while advanced setups become extremely powerful with optimized weapons and passive choices.
This build is ideal for players who want a fast-paced melee experience without sacrificing endgame potential. Its mobility also makes it comfortable for Ritual encounters, Trial of Chaos rooms, and difficult map mechanics.
2. Twisters: Spirit Walker and Deadeye
Twister builds continue to dominate because of their incredible screen coverage and smooth gameplay. Spirit Walker versions provide strong utility and survivability, while Deadeye setups focus on speed and damage output.
For players who enjoy clearing maps quickly, these builds are among the best options available. Efficient farming also makes it easier to accumulate resources when you decide to buy POE 2 Currency for faster gearing.
Strong Ranged Builds for Fast Progression
1. Ice Shot Deadeye
Ice Shot Deadeye is one of the safest league-start choices in 0.5.5. The ability to freeze enemies provides valuable crowd control, making dangerous encounters much easier. Its combination of range, mobility, and consistent damage allows players to progress through the Atlas comfortably.
2. Galvanic Shards Stormblast Bolts Tactician
Crossbow builds have become a popular alternative for ranged players. Galvanic Shards into Stormblast Bolts Tactician delivers excellent area damage while maintaining powerful single-target burst against bosses.
This build rewards players who enjoy tactical positioning and explosive damage windows. With the right equipment upgrades and crafting materials, it can compete with many top meta choices.
Reliable Summoner and Hybrid Builds
1. Plant Lich, Plant Oracle, and Varashta Djinns
Summoner builds are always attractive for players who prefer safer gameplay. Plant Lich, Plant Oracle, and Varashta Djinns provide strong damage while allowing players to focus on movement and mechanics.
These builds are especially useful for newer players because they do not require expensive gear immediately. They can complete campaign progression and gradually scale into endgame farming setups.
2. Companion Huntress and Wyvern Druid
For players who want a more active companion-focused experience, Huntress and Druid options are worth considering. They combine reliable damage with unique playstyles, giving players more control compared with traditional minion builds.
A-Tier Builds Worth Playing
Several builds remain excellent choices even if they are slightly behind the strongest meta options:
• Falling Thunder Martial Artist offers powerful melee bursts and satisfying combat.
• Essence Drain with Bonestorm provides strong damage-over-time gameplay.
• Mercenary Grenades deliver impressive ranged explosions.
• Permafrost Bolts offers reliable freezing and crowd control.
• Warrior Slams provide heavy hits and strong survivability.
• Witch Minions remain effective with proper investment.
These builds may need better passive planning or more specialized equipment, but they can still clear Atlas content and farm valuable rewards efficiently.
Builds That Need More Investment
Some setups, including Glacial Lance, Ice Strike Monk, and Spark/Firewall Sorceress, are not weak, but they require more careful gearing. Players choosing these options should expect slower early progression and a greater focus on optimization.
With enough investment, these builds can still become powerful choices. However, beginners may find the current S-tier and A-tier options much easier to develop.
